Pole tents are supported by poles installed on the edge and in the middle of the canopy. As the size increases, the number of poles needed to support the canopy increases as well. The poles are attached to rope or ratchet lines which are then tensioned to stretch the tent and pull the canopy tight. Pole tents must installed in a location where stakes can be driven into the ground. (Pole tents cannot be installed on concrete.)
